Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) can be highly useful in informing the diagnosis and management of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), according to new study findings presented at AAN 2021.
Dr Adriano Chio from the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Torino, Italy, presented new data on the clinical utility of WGS in a population-based ALS cohort.
In the study, 1,043 ALS cases from a regional Italian ALS registry and 747 healthy controls underwent WGS and repeat expansion analysis.
